Worldwide transport and logistic leader, GEODIS, is expanding its European relationship with Logicor, a leading European owner and manager of logistics real estate, by leasing 17,000 sqm of space at the Arendal 1:8 facility in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Arendal 1:8's scale and strategic location enable GEODIS to start operations at one well located last-mile facility, supporting their business operations and growth plans.

Arendal 1:8 is located close to the Port of Gothenburg and only 15 km to the west of Gothenburg city. It benefits from excellent connections to the regional motorway network which provide exceptional distribution access to Stockholm and Malmö in Sweden, as well as Oslo in Norway and the wider Nordic region.

The warehouse is a modern, flexible distribution facility benefitting from newly installed LED lightning throughout, a three tonne per square metre floor load capacity and a 10m clear height.

Christoffer Walljaeger, Senior Asset Manager - Sweden, Logicor comments: "I'm delighted we could partner with GEODIS to strengthen their Swedish logistics network, both in terms of efficient last-mile operations and high-quality modern facilities."

Managing Director of GEODIS in Scandinavia, Magnus Tornerhjelm sees the new facility's location as a particular asset. "Through the combined efforts of GEODIS corporate resources and local logistics teams we have secured a strategically well positioned site that not only gives existing partners the perfect logistical base but is attractive to new business. In-bound container cross-docking will dovetail perfectly with our warehouse-based logistics processes, delivering seamless supply chain management" he said.

The long-term lease commences on 1 December 2021. Newsec advised Logicor on the leasing transaction.
