The multi-temperature supply chain solutions, distribution and logistics specialist plans to create 400 new jobs in the area.

225 at Interlink is a modern distribution facility, totalling 225,690 sq ft, located 1.5 miles from Junction 22 of the M1 at the heart of the Golden Triangle. The scheme was constructed to BREEAM ‘Very Good’ standards and has an EPC ‘A’ rating.

Anthony McCluskie, Director, Asset Management UK at Logicor, commented: “With its prime East Midlands location and excellent specification, we had very strong interest in 225. We are delighted to welcome Oakland International who have committed wholeheartedly to Interlink and the local community.”

Oakland International Chief Executive, Dean Attwell, said: “Our move to Bardon was significantly influenced by the support and approach of North West Leicestershire District Council and a very dynamic and fast response from the Logicor team.”

“We are extremely committed to the area, and plan to invest £4 million in fitting out the unit. This includes capacity for up to 24,000 pallets and refrigeration stores with plans in pace to install solar panels to make the warehouse carbon neutral. On job creation, we are immediately recruiting 120 people by the end of October with a plan to recruit a further 100 by the end of the year. Our policy, wherever we operate, has been to give something back to the local community and so we plan to operate an on-site food bank and create links with local schools.”

CBRE, JLL and Burbage Realty acted as joint letting agents for 225 at Interlink. LSH advised Oakland International.
