Logicor has agreed to expand its existing 105,000sqm warehouse in Torija with an additional 18,800sqm unit, on a land plot sold by Gran Europa to Logicor. Gran Europa will also be the General Contrator responsible for the extension construction works.

The existing Logicor Torija warehouse is currently leased on a long-term basis to Leroy Merlin, a leading home improvement company. Leroy Merlin will also occupy the newly constructed building, using the cross-dock facilities to provide national and e-commerce fultillment across Spain.

Logicor Torija is a modern distribution centre located 73km to the northeast of Madrid, in the A-2 “Henares” corridor connecting Madrid and Barcelona. The new building will be constructed to BREEAM Very Good sustainability standard. The construction works are expected to be completed in Q1 2021. Once complete, the enlarged 124,000sqm facility will be one of Spain’s largest distribution platforms.

Alejadro Rumayor, Director, Asset Management, Logicor Espana, said:

“I am delighted Logicor can support Leroy Merlin by expanding this warehouse, helping them in their desire for more efficient fulfillment operations.”
